This introduction presents the two foundational theoretical models of Synthesis Political Economy and establishes the analytical framework that underlies all subsequent discussions on this site.



The first model, the Dialectical Cycle of the Two Productions (Diagram 1), depicts the four-quadrant structure through which the family system and the enterprise system interact via two markets — the commodity market and the labour market — with the financial market as the monetary intermediary. The model reveals the deep logic of market economies: the opposing yet interdependent relationship between Productive Force (enterprise reproduction) and Life-Force (population reproduction). Under conditions of laissez-faire capitalism, this dynamic consistently tends toward a state of imbalance — Productive Force advancing faster than Life-Force — manifesting as falling birth rates, wage stagnation, insufficient effective demand, and periodic economic crises.



The second model, the "Grand Tripartite" of Asymmetric Balance (Diagram 2), introduces the state as a third actor alongside family and enterprise. Government, operating through monetary policy, fiscal policy, tax policy, and market regulation, mediates the dialectical tension between the two productions. The model depicts an inherently asymmetric power configuration: Family Rights (rooted in the natural right to one's own labour) are structurally the weakest; Enterprise Rights (rooted in capital and property) are structurally stronger; and State Power (rooted in the state apparatus) is the strongest of the three — yet is ultimately constrained by its dependence on the tax base provided by families and enterprises alike.



The central proposition of this framework is that Life-Force stands above Productive Force. Population reproduction and human development are ends in themselves; enterprise production is the means. A political economy that treats production as primary and life as derivative inverts this hierarchy — with consequences that become catastrophic in the age of AI.



The two diagrams serve as the primary analytical tools for all articles on this site. Reading Diagram 1 clockwise traces a virtuous cycle of mutual reinforcement; reading it counter-clockwise traces the pathological transmission of crises. Diagram 2 provides the institutional frame for evaluating policy interventions and the conditions for cooperative versus non-cooperative games among the three actors.
